Two more Georgia football players arrested

Two Georgia linebackers were arrested Tuesday on misdemeanor possession charges, bringing the offseason total of team arrests to six.The players, Robert Beal and Brenton Cox, were arrested by campus police and charged with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, according to the Athens-Clarke County jail reports.Bond was set for each at $1,000.Both players missed Georgia’s seventh spring practice of the season, according to multiple reports.Cox, a sophomore, long was committed to Ohio State but decommitted right before the early signing period to commit to in-state Georgia. He was a five-star recruit in the Class of 2018.In his first season, Cox played in 13 games and had 20 tackles and one sack. His only start of the season came in the Sugar Bowl.Beal was a four-star commit in the Class of 2017. A redshirt sophomore, he appeared in 11 games and posted 15 tackles and one sack.Both players are expected to compete for starting spots in 2019.After his release from jail, Cox tweeted: “Some of us are facing hard obstacles in life that other people are making even harder. My life different.”
